Savings map · custom of the desk

Four weeks from a named goal to a page you can keep.

The Long Horizon Plan unfolds across four weeks. This is the path a household walks when the work is a full savings map. Shorter sittings borrow pieces of it and still leave the written pages to the full plan.

  1. Week 1

    The opening sitting

Ninety minutes upstairs in Tambon Taba. You say the goal in ordinary words: the plot, the school years, the parent who will stop working, the buffer. We ask who else depends on the money, and which months in the past year were thin. No map is drafted in this hour. The aim is to leave with the right names on a card.

  2. Week 2

    Records, at your own table

You gather about six months of what came in and what had to go out. A passbook, a notebook from the stall, school invoices, rent, medicine, loan repayments. Anan will tell you how to hand the copies over. Originals can stay at home if the copies are readable. The desk does the reading this week; you do not need to sit with us again until the papers have been seen.

  3. Week 3

    The mapping sitting

We put a thin month beside a fuller month. The contribution has to survive the thin one. Goals are priced in baht with the figures you supplied, each marked as known or guessed. If three goals compete, we ask which one may wait. The uncomfortable line is often the honest one, and we will not round it up to make the afternoon feel grand.

  4. Week 4

    The pages, handed over

You receive the written map at the office, or we read it page by page on a call if travel from a nearby amphoe is hard. The map lists the goal, the target in baht, the date, the monthly line, what is excluded from that line, and the month of the first yearly look. A short call the week after is included, for the question that appears only once the pages are at home.

Lines that appear on the sheet

  • The goal’s name, in the household’s own words
  • The target sum in baht, and whether that sum is known or guessed
  • The date you chose
  • The monthly contribution, taken from a thin month
  • A second line, if a known future change in income should raise it later
  • The buffer that is not to be spent on the goal
  • The month we will sit again if you want a yearly review

Lines that stay off the sheet

  • A forecast of land prices or school fees beyond the figures you brought
  • A product to buy, a fund to enter, or an insurer to call
  • Anyone else’s household, even a relative who shares the lane
  • Advice about a dispute, a court matter, or a tax filing

When the sheet is finished, the next step is a date. If you are ready to begin week one, ask for an opening sitting. If you want to compare the shorter appointments first, the book of sittings is the place to look.
